How well does a Alienware M14X run Skyrim?

I'm thinking about getting the Alienware M14X(The Best version$1646) How steady can the FPS get on it? Like can it run 60 on Medium settings?

Also can they handle Mods well?

You're willing to spend over $1500 and are satisfied with medium settings?

Just to help you compare specs, my PC (which isn't a beast by any means) consists of i5 2500, 4GB RAM and Geforce 460GTX 1gb. It can run Skyrim with texture packs, CLENB, Claralux coupled with near Max settings (apart for shadows as they're tweaked and no overdose of AA) at a steady 35-40fps outdoors.

The point of my post was to help the TC buy a laptop (if he's really keen on buying a laptop) with specs better than my desktop and know how well it can run Skyrim with mods. I know laptop GPUs don't perform quite as well as their desktop counter-parts. As a result, he can compare the performance difference between my 460GTX and whatever GPU that laptop has.

GTX 460 score - 2686
(Alienware M14X all versions) GT650M score - 1329
GTX 560 score(mine) - 3056

I can run Ultra settings, but do occasionally get some slowdown(reload of the battle of whiterun, looking a certain way in the thieves guild cistern, and a few very rare areas.

I have no graphics performance mods however and just run Skyrim with a few utility/gameplay mods.

You'll have to step up to the M17x to get a better graphics card. As far as the 650M, I don't have personal experience with it, but with that kind of score, I think it could probably handle medium.

At the Alienware m17x, you get the GTX 660m, which puts up a score of 1600. At the 2nd level of m17x, you get the 7970m which puts up a score over 3000.... however that's a $2000 laptop.

If it were a PC, I could give you suggestions, but I've never delved into gaming laptops.
