Anyone else terrified of posting on The Nexus?

The mods ban a lot of people per day for even tiny infractions. I saw one today where a guy's account was banned because his brother logged in on his account to compliment a mod he had downloaded.

And if you make another account apparently they IP trace you and ban it again for ban dodging. The entire atmosphere of twitchy, overpowered and self righteous mods makes me feel anxious. I understand having rules, but where is the compassion?

They even ban mod makers and then delete all their mods.
That and they have very slow download speeds.
The only good thing it has is its popular. It would be much easier if everyone just uploaded it to mediafire and there was a huge wiki.

Hi

Im Weimonds brother and I relly love your mod and love oblivion (and looking forward to get skyrim tooX) )
This mod is greate, I was relly disapointed withe OOOs Leveling and the other leveling mods, this one is simple, good and reached all my recquerment of oblivion and beyond.

So I just wanted to say thanks....

Sorry for my bad english XD.

One person per account, pretty simple rule

This is the sort of thing I'm referring to! This poor guy got his account banned because his brother used it to COMPLIMENT a mod author's work.

Now he can never download anything from the Nexus again.

Just get the mods, endorse the authors that aren't dicks, then get out. I prefer the japanese websites like Modtype or Dragonporn over Nexus if they didn't have most of the mods up there.

Can't he just create a new account? Or do they ban your IP?

That's kind of the point I was trying to make. The feeling that it's too dangerous to say anything for fear of someone taking offense and reporting you. Thus getting you banned -really easily-. I never post on there, nearly ever.

Should people just suck it up and feel free not to converse with others there out of fear of heavy handed punishment?

Or is the punishments and WILLINGNESS to punish people there wrong?

I don't bother posting there but that is really crazy that you can get banned that easily.

I don't really care enough honestly to post there, so personally I'm indifferent to whatever they're doing there. I just go there for mods.

In that case, it's probably to protect themselves. What if he was a minor using his older brother's account(not that he couldn't just lie on his age and all that in the first place). Still should have given a warning instead of an outright ban though.
