Skyrim Mods, Tips, and Recommendation Guide [1.2]

I think I already did mention warnings and stuff. I'm pretty sure almost every mod on the list keeps updating or reached it's final version.

I'd like to nominate http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27866
The mod is called High Level Enemies and is built to work well with Skyrim Immersive creatures, ASIS, ACE and even de-leveled zones.

Description of mod from page: "There are a number of great mods available that effect creature level and scaling. Some make the game harder at low levels and some harder at high levels but in each case there are difficulty spikes. Mods that delevel creatures usually render the game very difficult at low levels but easy at high levels. Mods that introduce level scaling don't properly account for the fact that the player's growth is non-linear so the game gets easy at high levels. Finally, mods that add high level creatures do a good job keeping the difficulty up at higher levels but still get easy when the player outlevels the added creatures.

High Level Enemies is designed to bring the best features of these different leveling systems together. It adds high level enemies as well as level scaling and at each step the enemy stats, perks, spells, damage done and armor rating were tweaked through rigorous testing to make sure the difficulty remains steady at high levels".

Also, some of the recommended mods have not been updated in a wile and could potentially cause CTD's or issues. Maybe a warning could be placed on some of those mods? Just a thought.

Crap my bad about the double post ...

Beautiful Whiterun hasn't been updated and has caused a few problems for me.
Also Terrain Bump and That's Ice are no longer on Skyrim nexus so they should probably be removed.

Thanks again for this big post Pyro, really helped me out to decide which Mods to get.

Also I have found Skyrim G.E.M.S. to help out tremendously

A lot of people used Beautiful Whiterun without issues. Really, there's nothing to update to that mod as it just places objects to Whiterun. You may have a conflicting mod.

Author of That's Ice seems like he's going to incorporate it into WATER (same author). I'll update stuff next time.

This is such a wonderful guide. I came back to Skyrim after a while and I wanted to check new mods and I stumbled upon your guide by chance while looking for compatibility between some mods. You have a really nice collection here and even if I have the majority of the big ones, there are some smaller ones that I did not know about, and I have to say: detail makes the difference! Thank you so much for all the time you spent to compile and comment on this guide!

P.S. That's Ice has been merged with WATER but now it does not have any difference options, just the defaults. Take a look at Real Ice, mostly because of all the options it offers.

Sorry for posting under my own post, but I wanted to point out another mod. Lost Longswords might not really add "new" weapons, but personally I love longswords and I was a big disappointed to see only short swords were in Skyrim. You should check this out too and see if it fits in your list. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26261

Also a link to Real Ice http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5388 . I want to point out that if you try to download Real Ice with the NMM from the main page and not from the Files page, it downloads the classic single option pack and not the installer with all the options it offers.
