I don't really like the default fov. How do change it to 90 or higher?

You can go in-game and test what's "best" for you.

Default FOV (I believe is 70 or 75) is perfect for 1920x1080

I use a FOV of 80 since I am playing @2560x1600

Anything over 90 may distort the view and you'll get a fisheye type of effect.

You can go in-game and change the FOV on the fly (although it won't stick and everytime you zone or log back in, your FOV will reset).

Go into Skyrim.ini to change your FOV permanently. You can google what lines need to be added.

...wut?

75 is good for 4:3 screens, while ~90 is best for 16:9 screens. If you want to change it permanently so you don't have to go into the console every time you start the game, add these lines to your skyrim.ini under the [Display] settings.

fDefaultWorldFOV=90.0
fDefault1stPersonFOV=90.0000

90 is a bit too much.

90 is perfect.

My AR-15 will never be illegal. It will simply be "undocumented."

I have never adjusted FOV in the past. Skyrim is the first game I've ever felt the urge to. I upped it to 87 on my 1080p monitor.

I agree with the notion that default is fine for 4:3. But 16:9? hell no. You barely have any space between the edges of the screen and the hands in 1st person. It's a huge waste of screen real estate for a widescreen monitor.

I'd wager that 85 would be a more acceptable, non fisheye, FOV for most people. I personally like 87~ ish.

That doesn't change it permanently. It (for most people) always reverts to default at some point.
