You have to launch Skyrim from the SKSE.exe

It should be in the Skyrim folder in whatever drive Skyrim is on.

You should be able to move that .exe from the folder and to your desktop. Always run the Skyrim SKSE.exe for SKSE to work.

Don't you mean make a shortcut to it on your desktop?

Either or.

I think the nexus thread says you can shortcut it. I mistakenly copied it first, but I haven't had any problems.

So yeah TC, I'm sorry for my mistake. Try shortcutting it to guarantee that it'll work.

Thanks too, Slash.

No prob. I think now that SKSE has a .exe installer there's a option to have it make the shortcut for you.

you can also change the TESV.exe to TES_.exe and skseloader.exe to TESV.exe and then go into the data folder then skse folder (create one if it doesnt exist) then open skse.ini (create one with wordpad if it doesnt exist yet) and type in:
[Loader]
RuntimeName=TES_.exe

And save. This way you can run skyrim with skse using the normal link (ie through steam and still get time played and cards etc)

As far as I know it just injects itself into the TESV.exe file which is what actually get launched.

even if you run it through the skse loader without doing what you suggested you still get game achievements, time played, and those cards through steam.
