I wanna see VII, VIII, and IX remade to look more like this game.

And I'm surprised Square hasn't thought of such an inexpensive way to make money.

No. Just no.

Do you honestly think Square-Enix is ever going to take VII, VIII, and IX and put them on the PSP with high resolution graphics? We're talking about polygons here and not 2D sprites. There's a difference.

I'd rather see Final Fantasy III, V, and VI get their PSP debut next. Leave the "new school" (Final Fantasy VII and beyond) entries to the franchise alone. They're fine.

lol @ remaking a PSX game from scratch and re-imagining it in 2D being inexpensive. That's a big project right there. You also make it sound like there's a huge demand for 2D versions of 3D games.

as a part of the "2d > 3d" crowd, I am all for 2d versions of 7, 8 and 9 being made.

This^. We already have portable versions of VII through IX (through PS1 classics). I would much rather see the "remake" treatment for V and VI. Not trusting my FFIII SNES cartridge to keep my save (battery went bad and deleted all my data) and the PS1 version's load times are just terrible. Would definitely pay for a portable version of both V and VI.

Wrong. VII and beyond are the ones that need remakes, due to ugly graphics (FF7 was ugly WHEN IT CAME OUT) and awful translations. I'd love to see either a good remake of FF7 or a real sequel to FF6.

I agree with the first statement, but calling the PSX era new school is kinda wrong, IMO. The PSX era should be the mid life of FF. PS2 and beyond is what's the new school stuff. Just my thoughts though. :P

What exactly are you comparing FFVII to that make it ugly by 1997's standards? Just curious.
