WSC Final Fantasy IV --- Diamonds are forever, and so's Ric Flair!, Woooo! To be the man, you have to beat the man! The greatest Wrestling DVD set ever made The Ultimate Ric Flair!
PSP or Mobile. Basically, Wii,Wonderswan,PSX=SNES , but PSX with CGI intro (awful one though), GBA is PSX with extra content and better loading times and slightly better graphics. PSP, is GBA with better graphics, all glitches Fixed and all content, plus cutscenes and sequels.
DS is the most butchered version of the game, with Augments that break the game, and bad 3D polygon graphics, the scripts have been changed for enemies too. It is good if you want a different experience after playing a good version like PSP, however it just isn't FFIV other than story.
Mobile is only available in Japan, but Lunar trials are fixed so they make sense with after years, and tails gte you more than admantite, ei different rings.
For all intents and purposes, we'll say the PS, SNES, WiiWare and WSC versions are the same, and we'll say the GBA and PSP version is the same. We'll disregard graphics and platform in the case. Fair enough?
I say DS = Mobile > PSP > SNES.
The DS version has the better script, the highest difficulty and augments to customise the party with. The Mobile version has the Cave of Trials, the Lunar Ruins and party switching.
Why are they both better than the GBA version? The GBA version is far easier than the other two for starters. It has abilities that are useless (Pray, Bardsong, Salve, etc, all useless), and unbalanced characters. For example, Kain's Holy Lance has only 98 attack, making him a very bad fighter, when he should be one of the best. Porom is weaker than Rosa in nearly every way, etc. But to add to that, the Lunar Ruins equipment make underpowered characters overpowered. Suddenly the useless Edward and Kain are dealing the most damage, and Kain is getting free Tornados left, right and center.
The DS and Mobile versions fix things like that, and they also have unlimited inventories and a few little extras like that. The GBA version is pretty much the same as the SNES version just with extra content, so no real comparison needs to be done there.
What? The PlayStation version has an improved translation and greater difficulty, removing the modifications that were made in the NA release of FF IV on SNES. The Wonderswan version is based on the PlayStation version. They don't equal the SNES release in the slightest.
