I've pronounced it as "zeal (seal but with a z instead of an s)-ia". Is that right?

The way it's spelled in Japanese is sort of like Ex-ee-lee-a

I think most people that speak English will pronounce it Zillia since we don't really have any words that start with X and make a sound like ex.

Weird.

I pronounce it Xilia, just as it is written (minus the one extra "i"). Then again I do the same with Xenogears/blade, where the "z" just sounds ugly to me.

Yep. The katakana writing even starts with the E kana. (E-ku-shi-ri-a)

'Zillia' just sounds horrible imo. I've been following the Katakana wording/Japanese pronunciation for a long time now which is 'Eku-shiria' so I'm guessing 'Exillia' would be the closest English equivalent.
