Ever feel like you've outgrown JRPGS?

realtalk here guys. Sometimes it feels like I'm just too old to be playing this. Most of the plot, to me, feels like I'm watching a bunch of kids sort out their feels.

not to mention the cliches, dear GOD.

I just want to punch Jude in the face sometimes. Is that normal?

Well, this is certainly going to be good.

and to answer the question, I like to think that, within reason, the games I play and enjoy are independent of my maturity level.

Perfectly normal. Has nothing to do with growing up.

im almost 30 and dont feel that was at all OP. maybe its just you who feels to old? i may be 27 but i still feel like im a teenager. i dont feel like ive changed much and while i have more responsibilities now than i used to ive tried avoiding "growing up" as much as possible. i want life to be fun, and being an "adult" and casting away all childishness is just like surrendering to boring mediocrity and tedium.

Nope, if anything, this makes me remember how much I love JRPGs

You realize cliches are only such because you watch or play things too much, right? There are no new ideas anymore.

The only thing I found at all cringe worthy was when they go Sailor Moon "lend me your power" while trying to tether to Volt near the end.....just to restore power and have an elevator move. That.....that definitely made me cringe a bit. The big group cheer when they decide to go after Gaius as well near the end, that was close to cringe worthy. But everything else I loved.

Sometimes I feel like I'm too old for them (25 years old) but I still enjoy the game play and characters. The story can be a little too "friendship and rainbows!" but eh. I look past it and enjoy the games. I also play some "mature" RPGs to balance it out, lol.

Ever notice that the people who say they grow out of stuff are basically youngins?

Don't know why anyone's in such a rush to grow up.

We all just wish we were kids again later on.
