Can you guys give a brief review on the game? I havent played EDF2 so I was really looking forward to it. Is it easy to enjoy despite not being english, and is the enemy count and framerate decent on PSP? I mean, I know the framerate was probably bad in the Ps2 version (since 2017 wasnt stellar and that was the 360), but is it bearable? Anything else of note to say?

Seven minutes. Seven minutes is all I can spare to play with you.

This is an arcade style shoot'em up, so no need to understand the story, just shoot. I enjoyed the game very much though I dunno Japanese. The main menu is simple with background picture on each option which is easy to recognise.

Yes frame rate is bad as PS2 version but it's playable (20-30 I think). I don't notice any cut on number of monsters on screen & I don't see any frame rate drops in adhoc mode too.

Despite the poor frame rate, the number of monsters, missions & weapons are much more than those in EDF 2017.

This game is a blast & more fun with multi-players. The hard mode is quite challenging, so it's easier if you play with co-op.

The only other complaint is the male soldier runs too slow & the vehicle control is horrible.

I'd say this is the last hidden gem on PSP. I'm glad that D3 ported it to PSP eventually. The PS2 version is fun but co-op is split-screen & two players only. Now this PSP remake version is like a dream come true with four players & full-screen co-op (or vs).

For anyone who wants it, I threw together a visual menu list. Meant to post it yesterday but I never got around to finishing it until now:

Thanks for the picture. I actually pretty much figured all those out.

As for a review, the game seems fun but the default controls are terrible (I went with B setting) and the framerate is horrible! So slow. ; ;

Other than that, game is as much fun as shooting giant bugs should be. :P'

By the way, The XBOX 360 one sucks? I thought it was supposed to be good. :/

I figured the picture would be extraneous to most people, but who knows, I'm sure someone will find use with it.

The 360 one is fine, it's just a step backwards for the series compared to the previous iterations. It seems like it was really rushed. It uses the same maps and several of the same stages but with fancier graphics, just as laggy though. In some cases they've even taken single levels from EDF2 and cut them into as many as 4 or 5 stages with reduced enemies. It's still a great game, just, as I said, a step backwards.

Additionally, I've found with this one if you have the ability to use RemoteJoy you can vastly improve the controls by using Type C with a USB controller, it doesn't control as tightly as the PS2/360 games, but it's WAY closer than just using the PSP itself. Freelook, analog aim, the ability to reasonably accurately lead your shots, quite nice.
