temporal rift : can you help me out?!

#1Stiltzkin_9Posted 2/2/2012 3:17:01 PM
So I'm terrible at puzzles sometimes and I've been at this particular one for 1hr+ ):

If you don't know. The rules go:
You start anywhere.
The hands will move that many spaces away from the particular number (ie : if you stepped on the three at 12 o clock, the hands would move to the one and four)
If *both* hands land on blank spaces, you have to restart.

Here's the url for the picture of the puzzle.

Thanks in advance.

if we get a few people particularly good at these on the thread, feel free to post your screens and maybe they can help out as well.

i can help with this, if you want a script that will solve it for you.

takes the fun out of doing it yourself...but if you still want it i can help.

I need help with just this one! Lol. I've been at it forever, so I think I've had enough 'fun' trying. This is hopefully the last one in the group.
Thanks so much for potentially letting me continue!

in order to determine where the hands of the clock will land, u have to look at the number ur standing on. i.e. if ur standing on #4 then the hand on the left will move 4 spaces to the left, and the hand on the right will move 4 spaces to the right. The same applies for a different number.

this tool works great.

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=fr&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fnyusuke.com%2Fgame%2Fff13%2Fff13-2puzzle.html

start with the [0] position and input the #'s clockwise. sometimes, you won't have all 12 numbers. that's ok.

once you're done inputting, hit the first radio button with the "!" sign on it.

for me, the #'s were in this example: 1,3,5,1,1,4,4,4,2,3 clockwise. 10 numbers.

here is the output:

[0]1 [1]3 [8]2 [6]4 [2]5 [7]4 [3]1 [4]1 [5]4 [9]3

so the first # you hit is in that "0" position, which corresponds to the 12 o' clock position. the # is a 1 on the actual clock. then i hit the #3 at the 1 'o clock position. then i hit the crystal #2 at the 8 'o clock position. keep in mind that if there's not 12 numbers in the puzzle itself, you may have to adjust slightly.

good luck.

Ah. I finally got it. If anyone has the same puzzle as me, here's how iit went :

3 (12 o clock)
4 (9 o " ")
2 (5)
4 (7)
1 (3)
6 (2)
2 (8)
3 (10)
2 (1)
5 (11)

Then either of the 2s at 4 and 6

Hope this is understandable.
