Mmm... no, the plot was pretty much resolved. Original timeline restored, villain defeated, paradoxes stopped.

The "to be continued part" was an abrupt introduction of an event that was hinted at but never made sense in the first place.

"If you defeat Caius, Etro will die"

......okay.... right.

No, the game made it clear that altering the timeline may kill Serah and killing Caius would kill the goddess.

You beat the final boss and instead of everything being magically alright, the warnings were true and everything goes to hell. It would have been lame if all those forewarnings didn't come true.
