This tournament will determine the best character in the Final Fantasy series. After going through an intense nomination process, we have narrowed the contestants down to 64 nominees, with representation from almost all corners of the FF universe.
This is how it will work. Every day, I will post two contestants. All you have to do is vote for the character you think is the better of the two. Exactly 24 hours from the time I post the topic, voting will freeze and any votes past that will not be counted.
Some ground rules:
1.) I would really prefer you copy-paste the previous voters' "Current standings" posted to prevent me from having to go through the topic and count each one. However, I won't disqualify your vote if you fail to read.
2.) You are only allowed to vote once per match, but feel free to discuss as much as you want.

Yesterday, Zack Fair (FF7) blew Fran (FF12) out of the water by a margin of 13 votes at 43-30. Although people all admitted that Fran was an enjoyable character, she couldn't really hold a candle to Zack, his personality, and his sacrifices. Zack will move on to Round 2 to face off against the winner of today's match.

Don't get me wrong, I love Agrias. But this time, my vote goes to Yuffie Kisaragi (FF7). Final Fantasy Tactics has the unfortunate gameplay-enforced plot mechanic in which once a character permanently joins you, they never appear in the storyline again. If Agrias had kept appearing in scenes after she joins Ramza, I would vote for her hands-down. But unfortunately, it just seems like she's there long enough to be memorable and then disappears altogether. Ugh.
On the other hand, Yuffie has a lot more depth to her than you might think, at least if you read the novels. The fact that she appears to be a traitor at one point but actually has a deep loyalty to the party strengthens her character all the more.

Agrias.Yuffie is the precursor to the Vanille-type character. Vanille annoys me.
More like Relm, but she was young enough to where people didn't notice.
