A FNCFFXIIIRPG, Chapter Four: Instruments of Revelation
Sorry guys, an update from me will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon. I'm beat and I work all day again tomorrow. Starting next week I'm going to have a good bit more free time though, and 2(!!) days off back to back.
Random Bump to say, wooo. I beat Geryon and Proto-Babil!
Playing each FF and owning superbosses. FF 1-3 Superbosses defeated.

@Ventus: The way I was proposing Live Triggers is that the other person picks the response to something your character does. I see it as a 3 step process myself.
1. Character A posts and asks character B a question. Character A may request for a Live Trigger if they want.
2. Character B posts Live Trigger and gives 4 responses.
3. Character A posts again using one of the Live Trigger responses and the Live Trigger concludes.
The way you did it when we were up on the mountaintop was more akin to what I was going for when Angil was talking about the plan to Renault and Milly. Although that was some time ago, I only thought about including it as a role play aspect just now considering new characters and new chapters.
The second way I see it is as a two step process
1. Character A posts and asks Character B a question. Character A posts Live Trigger and gives Character B 4 choices to pick from based on their character.
2. Character B responds using 1 on the 4 choices and the Live Trigger concludes.
In the first method, your character's dialogue is still written by you but is selected by someone else. In the second method, your character's dialogue is not written by you but you get to pick which dialogue your character would say. Some may be more comfortable with the first type as it gives the player control over what their character might say. Some may be more comfortable with the second type as it is a post faster and gives you the choice over what your character says, even if someone else wrote it.
I think it is a cool idea to try out considering we have been doing this for over two months and most of us know each other's character well enough to do type II. Players may still be more comfortable with type I however. I just wanting to give some clearer guidelines to does who want to try it but weren't sure how.

Jason, Milly (Jason's View)
"I... I'm sorry!" Seesh... Can't she calm down for once? i mean Seriously, it's not her Fault. "Darran I-" "Hold on a Minute." I Interupted her and she looked kinda upset... i didn't do it, I swear. "Who exactly are you? I haven't Exactly Seen you around here... Are you one of Milly's Friends? If that's the Case, Then please, try to understand I'll be Fine Handling her on my own." "Yeah, But Jason, we need all the help we can Get..."
LIVE TRIGGER: For Darran
This Boy seems to be concerned for Milly's Saftey.. How should I respond?
A: You want to fight me Then?
B: Your not the boss of Me!
C: What are you, her Boyfriend or Something?
D: You can put your Trust in me.
@Nemyar: You can edit any of the choices to Talior them to your Charater, so don't feel as you have to say what I say exactly.
Defending the village:
Angil, Kyte, and Yuki prepare to defend the village from the worst of the monsters released by the pod. While most of the Cocoon humans ran for the temple, the militarized monsters did their best to disrupt the forces in the village, to draw the attention away from the temple. Our heroes battle the monsters with fervor, until they join up with an Oerban l'Cie who is battling the big bad Beta Behemoth!
"Oh man, am I glad for some back up! You are back up, right? You don't all look Oerban to me, but you definitely don't look Cocoon."
THE BATTLE BEGINS!
[800/800 HP]Oerban l'Cie Challenges the Beta Behemoth and Mediguards x2!
GET READY, FIGHT!!
Beta Behemoth: 6[Oerban l'Cie]
Darran, Jason and Milly head to protect the temple from the main detachment of human Cocoon forces. They stumble and battle until they are near the steps, forced into a tough battle! Many of the Oerban l'Cies are holding the line in front of the Temple of Oerba. Milly happens to listen upon a conversation by two of the Cocoon officer.
Raider: "**** **, ***** ** *******? *** ** ********** *******?"
Ranger: "**** **** ** **** ** *** ********. ** *** ******* ***********."
Milly couldn't understand a word of it, instead choosing to speak one of the two languages everyone understands: Violence. And with that, our heroes drop a surprise attack!
THE BATTLE BEGINS!
PSICOM Raider A is dazed!
PSICOM Raider B is dazed!
PSICOM Ranger is dazed!
Pantheron is dazed!
GET READY, FIGHT!!
The Eighth Ark
No, I suppose I was being presumptuous with the usage. No character actually said they used the potions and ether. So I will take it back, as doing it this way will allow for more gestalting.
To either Angelus or Renge.
The trick to this battle is that the different faces have different resistances and actions.
Angelus heals herself 760 HP! [Full gestalt healing]
Azra`eil deals 450 damage, 12 stagger to Asura! [Halves gestalt chaining]
Emil doesn't know which head to strike! [INACTIVE]
Kei deals 600 damage, 9 stagger to Asura! [Halves gestalt chaining]
Renge deals 1320 damage, 60 stagger to Asura! [Halves gestalt chaining]
Syntyche assesses the situation! [INACTIVE]
Vincere casts Haste on Angelus, Renge, and himself. [Immune to gestalt buffing]
Asura shows her Joy, healing herself to full and bestowing Veil on herself, then shows her Serenity.
NEXT ROUND, GESTALT!!
Asura: 53/100[Gestalt] 9[Veil]
Angelus: 4[Doom] 2[Haste]
Is this thread serious?
Wow everyone here need to get some vag.
OOC: About Live Triggers: The second one does sound like a good idea as long as we allow elaboration on the answers in the response. That would be important for me, Nem, and Kiya's characters, seeing as they are all relatively new and many of their secrets have not been revealed yet.
@Cat: I actually liked the responses for the example. I can think of plenty of ways for Yuki to react to each of them, especially D: I could take that answer and turn it into a parody of the stigma with characters who wield big swords or just have Yuki act all sorts of awkward.
@Ventus: About how old are your characters? I'm wondering because if/when Yuki runs into them I don't want to have him act like they are children if they are not.
Yuki's age would be around 20, FYI, and he would have been a warrior since he was 15, so he has about 5 years under his belt (Not all as a L'cie of course!).
[OOC: Look everyone, two trolls in a row! Make sure not to feed them.]

[OOC: REALLY not digging the Live Trigger thing, guys. Roleplay as your character would. You don't need to let someone else choose for you, and you certainly don't need to outline someone else's choices for them. On top of all that, it's slow, making a lot of choppy conversations that get confusing. I can't stop you, but I am just giving my input.
Also, I'll take the Ether if that's okay. Angelus can decide what to do with the Hi-Potions - I'd definately take one or both of them but it's up to her.]
Renge scoffed under his breath.
"That kind of barrage, and she still stands? I guess..."
Suddenly his scowling face and his intense glare soften, giving way to his more usual level-headed self.
"Er... ah. I guess I need to be more careful. It was... I dunno WHAT I was doing..."
He notices that Asura seems to be shifting strategies. She seems to have placed a magical aura over herself that would prevent the group from breaking down her defenses.
Tch... there goes my plan to sabotage her...
If I had been in my right mind, I would've used my magic to determine her weaknesses from the very start... what keeps happening to me during these fights...? No matter, I can't change what I did, but I can change what I choose to do now!
TP: Libra -> Asura
Fire / Blizzard / Fire / Blizzard / Fire / Blizzard (Projected Damage: 1320, 30 Stagger - hope she isn't immune or halving it with this face!)

Emil narrowly avoided the blade of the Menhirrim, and then looked around at the group, then back to the beast. The beast was now DIAMONDS. Well, kind of. The beast was gone, replaced by another Eidolon. He immediately knew what to do, and smirked, readying himself, though before he could do anything, the pain kicked back in again, and he collapsed, looking over at Renge weakly, "Mm... you can do it, guys... I can't go on like this..."
He was too weak, still. Even after getting his Eidolon, he couldn't do anything...
[OOC: Yeah, I'm way too busy with school and stuff to work on this right now. Sorry. >: At least I have a plot-related reason, though. :P
Anyway, for mah Eidolon...
2. Attack is the free skill I choose.
4. Base: 1300HP, 200STR, 200MAG
2500CP on HP = 6HP/10CP = 1500HP = 2800HP total
2500CP on STR = 1STR/10CP = 250STR = 450STR total
500CP on MAG = 1MAG/10CP = 50MAG = 250MAG total
[Step 2] Attack
(750) Debuff/Debilitate (whichever one works for Deprotect)
(800) Soul Blade
1750 CP left.
Sorry I suck with the format, I rushed it. >: Anyway, will PM to R u s h soon~]
