Monster Infusion Q?

Hypothetically; Say I want to raise a Green Chocobo to be my end game Med Monster, so I'll be using Mana Materials to level it up with whenever possible as that's optimal for its role.

However, the Green Chocobo can't learn Esunaga on its own so let's say I decide to level a Flanitor to level 34 when it will learn Esunaga, at which point I can infuse my Green Choco' with the Flan's ability. I have no intention on using the Flanitor for anything other than that purpose.

Q: Does it really matter at all what materials I level the Flanitor up with, as long as it gets up to the level needed for the ability I want to infuse, or is there any benefit at all to also prioritising Mana Materials for the Flandit too?

Thanks in advance.
