Easiest way to get coins for Chaos Crystals?

Is it the chocobo racing?
I read that you can get good amounts of coins with the Sazh DLC, but I hate card games... I hate slot machines even more.

As for the chocobo racing: do i need to get the silver chocobo from Academia and infuse it with a microchu?

Thanks.

Chocobo racing is a slow but consistent and not-frustrating way to get coins.

I didn't use a Silver Chocobo, because I don't like using my one-time monster for a minigame, so I followed this White Chocobo build http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/619315-final-fantasy-xiii-2/62013912?page=2 (post #110)

Thanks. I'm playing the game completely blind but I ended up in a dead end (a rare thing in games nowadays) and I guessed I needed to buy that Chaos Crystal.
I guess I'll search where to find the White Chocobo and start leveling him up.

I'm guessing you are stuck in Academia 4XX? If that's the case, you need to collect all Graviton Cores to proceed.

I found the easiest way is to get 100,000gil from Yomi or Tonberry's, trade in for coins so much easier to get them that way

Yep. I went in New Bodhum and couldn't find anything, I don't have the right time period I need for Oerba, I looked around Academia 400 and found a gate that needs a wild artifact (that I don't have), went to the two Augusta Towers I have but in one I need a wild artifact and in the other I need a key found in the previous one, and so I ended up in Serendipity.

Btw, getting around Academia 400 is terrible with all those battles that can't be avoided, same-ish for Augusta Tower.

I used chocobo racing for the trophy. Didn't have to do anything for the crystal.

Just use Silver Chocobo. You don't have to build him for racing. Just feed him to max level and go just like that. When you're done you can build him for battle. This way you'll win about 40% of the races, but if you know which ones you win (eg the collectors catalog ones you always win), then it's no problem. Betting on yourself is also a safe way to speed things up once you know which races you'll win without building. Took me less than 3 careers for the trophy

Not all. Just 5.
