When I saw NGP I thought they were trying to steal NDS thunder... I am not trying to flame the console, it looks cool and all, I just dislike how they called it NGP.

It's just a nickname. Maybe it will be called PSP2 after all, who knows. The DS was called Nintendo Nitro for a long time before its release.

If they keep NGP (possible?) there are so many acronyms they can call it.
My fav so far is Nintendo Gaming Phail

PSP2 would be inappropriate seeing how the system is a huge step fwd compared to PSP. It's simply not a PSP with a bigger screen and faster processor. It's a PSP with those + Facebook, 2 cameras (my GOSH!), 3G, gyroscope, accelerometer, AND electronic compass.

check this out from their fact sheet:
"LiveArea: Every game title for NGP will be provided with a space called “LiveAreaTM” where users can share the fun and excitement with other players. Users will have access to the latest information of games provided from SCE and 3rd party developers and publishers through PlayStation®Network. Additionally, NGP users will be able to view an “Activity” log that is constantly updated with accomplishments from users who are playing the same game, which in turn can trigger active real-time communication among users."

it's not a PSP2. it's a Next Generation PlayStation.
