Tenkaichi06Posted 11/24/2011 7:02:12 PM | Everything I am stating is my opinion, solely. I am not trying to start debate. Just curious...
I lost interest in handheld systems when I was around 10-12. I got a PS3 two months after launch, and have played it ever since. Now, I understand I can't play that while I'm on the train, or anywhere else, but when I am somewhere else, it's because I'm doing something.
More of the fun exists on consoles, so what is attracting about a handheld device? Sure, with the Vita you can now play some games on your TV screen, but what games are worth buying the system for?
Again, not trying to start a debate. I'm just curious as to how older gamers feel any attraction to the handheld market. I myself am 18 years old, if anyone was planning on asking. --- PSN: Tenkaichi06 |
BearpowersPosted 11/24/2011 7:07:11 PM | I only play story centric games, preferably JRPGs.
Fighters are the only exception to this rule.
I also suffer from Anxiety issues and don't like sitting in one place too long, I tend to jump from room to room in my home.
I also do a lot of traveling, I go up to Toronto every year to visit some good friends and that's a 16 hour train ride.
I plug in my handhelds and just play away.
JRPGs have been mostly a handheld genre now, so I play handhelds much more than my home consoles.
I'm 22 years old by the way. |
PhantomSwordPosted 11/24/2011 7:07:45 PM | Not everyone is you. Play it on a train or just anywhere around the house. No hassle in picking it up, just play anywhere you want. Plus with Vita's social functions, you can do way more than on PS3, and you get an expanded library. --- I'm sexy and I know it. |
d19xxPosted 11/24/2011 7:20:57 PM (edited) | I can sit on my ass anywhere to play, I can play before sleeping, waking up and while taking a dump.
I can also use the TV to watch my favorite shows and play at the same time.
What does age got to do with this anyway? Is there a rule that when you're over 15 you need to play on consoles and yell profanities like an 8 year old online?

Fun differs from person to person. The games I like are on handhelds and other than Dark Souls, there's nothing on consoles that interest me... --- Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? |
jjeerryyonly9Posted 11/24/2011 7:18:58 PM | I spend most of my nights at the girliefriend's place - so handhelds are a necessity. I even bought a laptop to PC game there. --- TO MICHAEL!!! PSN: RadKickAss |
Spiffy247Posted 11/24/2011 7:20:22 PM | I'm not home very much, and having a handheld really helps. I'm 23, and I always bring a handheld with me. I also play my 360 a lot. --- I'm clever, vaguely feminine, a vampire, and I wield Dice. PH33R. The DS and PSP are both outstanding systems. Wally the Equality Weasel says so. |
banjo5150Posted 11/24/2011 7:35:58 PM | I enjoy playing games. I am away from home dealing with work and in a hotel about 6-8 days a month. I think phone games are terrible. |

CryingChronaPosted 11/24/2011 7:44:39 PM | I like it because I can move around with it :) I can play it in my bed, and parents won't bug me about playing those "bad games".

Dkmariolink3Posted 11/24/2011 7:52:33 PM | Im 14, getting the Vita because I do not want to wait for ps4, and ps3 will be dead soon so i want the newest thing they have. Anyway, how are you ever to old to play a game? Let alone a handheld? Better than crap Ios and Android |
