I'm not saying the sales are horrible or anything, but any product can always do better. For example the 3ds could have sold better at launch if it had better games and had it's current price. What are the factors that are holding the Vita back?

the main one is that there are no system sellers for the Japanese market, most of the launch games appeal much more to the NA and EU

Probably cause they didnt really want any of the games. I think there waiting for gravity rush and maybe ragnarok odyssey but I doubt it.

Because Monster Hunter's on 3DS.
PSX was a PlayStation 2 remodel, not a PS(1).

I sure hope it doesn't tank because it is one nice piece of hardware and I really want it... I hope it sells a LOT more in the US...

.... Apparently, in the same time-frame in which Vita sold 70,000 units, the PSP sold a little over 100,000... Doesn't seem too bad of a drop... I actually would've preferred it sold a lot more than the PSP at least, but oh well. If it had sold 4,000 in those 7 days,Then I would be calling it a flop...

I think people are just overreacting...

It isnt selling well because its not released worldwide yet. Additionally, Japan is probably the Vita's smallest market as so far, the games are catering to a North American taste. The games out right now dont interest Japanese gamers. As has been said, if Monster Hunter was out for it, it would be selling like crazy there.
