Thinking of purchasing a vita
Back To: Board List | Topic List | Topic Archived
I am kinda on the fence about getting a vita. My PSP was great but I am not sure I can afford the vita. They made it too expensive (especially for those on welfare). Sony is making so much money per sale I wish they would drop the price slightly. They are my favorite company so I feel like they can throw us a bone here! I guess I'll just wait for the revision so I can get a better deal. With iPhone games so cheap I can probably keep myself occupied until then.
I'm with you TC, the Vita is seriously in need of a price drop. 250 bucks? What were they thinking, especially after the 3ds and what nintendo went through. Who wants to pay 250 dollars on a "gaming" device when the ipod touch is cheaper, and does more. And who wants to pay 50 dolalrs for a Vita game when Ipod touch and iphone games are 99 cents? --- U.S. Army Airborne Veteran

Vita games range from $9.99 to $49 (most are $40) 2. You get what you pay for. Sure you could spend $0.99 on an app but then you only get about 2-3 hours before your bored. With good PSV game you could probably get a good 20 hours. Let's not forget how Apple is always screwing it's customers. You could buy an iPod and after 3 years not be able to play the latest games. Will never happen with the PSV 3. Sony as a company can't afford some massive price drop right now. The cheapest I see the PSV being is $200 in 8-14 months. --- PlayStation Vita System Trailer: http://youtu.be/RIaJHh60hQY Gravity Rush PlayStation Vita Trailer: http://youtu.be/-rwyRCgLbXU
Instead of looking at video game forums and worry about how much the Vita costs, how about getting a job and getting off welfare or convince your parents to get a job and get off welfare? I mean, I have my priorities straight and can afford one. Why can't you? Disabled? Shouldn't you be spending money on your healthcare and health needs instead of a Vita since you can't afford one anyway? If you can afford an iPhone and are willing to play that while you wait for a price drop... why even post here? --- Final Fantasy 6 > Final Fantasy 7

$250 is really a very fair price for what you're getting. The Vita has some serious horsepower under the hood and features a lot of cool control technology to boot. This baby can do a lot and I can't wait to see just how far developers will stretch the technology as they become more familiar with the hardware. In truth, I was expecting a $350 price tag when I went to E3 back in June. --- Downloads Editor - Nintendo Life http://www.nintendolife.com

Because the ipod is a piece of crap compared to any dedicated handheld to most gamers. Also, don't even act as if those .99 games give the same amount of entertainment as a $40 game. You get what you pay for. You pay a little, you get a little. You pay a lot, you get a MUCH better product. That said, the Vita will undoubtedly get a price drop at some point, so there is hope. It's not going to be right now and it shouldn't be now. Hell, it hasn't even been released in most of the world yet! Sony can and will (and SHOULD) sell as many units as they can for $250. Sony fans will gladly pay $250 for a great piece of hardware (and it's a pretty darn good deal too) so it stands to reason that it will be $250 for a while. When sales go down and the price to make them goes down a bit, THEN they may consider dropping the price. It makes no sense to drop it otherwise. Sony is a business and they need to make money too so they can continue to make great stuff in the future. You may find this a surprise, but they aren't around for charity. These price drop threads are so f'ing stupid! People have no sense anymore. --- Some of my favorite game songs of all-time: |
