I'm a big MGS fan but I can't beat mg 1. It's pretty boring actually.
Basically, all I need to know is that...
*spoilers*

this was solid snake's first mission and that Big Boss was a traitor. Right?

*end*

Metal gear 2 Looks more interesting. I wouldnt Miss anything by skipping mg1 Right?

I found MGS to be more compelling than the sequel. There is a substantial amount of plot to be missed by skipping it.

EDIT: Oh, sorry I didn't notice you were talking non-solid games.

I played the first one on the NES when I was little. I was happy to make it a few screens in, let alone beat it.

Its hard. But if you know what you are doing it is a breeze. Just look at some of the speed runs.

I shall one day. I got college on mid August so I cant buy a gamecube even though its like $30. I would like to gst mgs the twin snakes one day though. The cinematics look awesome, especially when gray fox was dodging rex's bullets while rolling then he roll jumped and shot rex with his arm. On youtube, I replayed that part like 10 times. No shame.
