Have to agree, and I like LBP too. Mario World was like its own caliber of enjoyment to me though. In the SNES days was Marios prime. Every new game was totally different from the previous. No one is denying that LBP Is a fun and innovative game, personally I am sure I'll love it once my copy arrives. Trying to compare Mario to LBP is a false equivalency. I'm not blinded by nostalgia, believe me when I say this, I'm not trashing the Mario's legacy, I'm saying that what Nintendo has been producing lately hasn't lived up to it and other companies like MM have stepped up and answered the call to excellency. Nintendo hasn't embraced technology, they've lagged behind the rest as a consequence, their biggest IP too has suffered. In my opinion, any random Pac-man game (Even the Atari 2600 version) IS better than any Metal Gear Solid game (strangely, the 2 Kojima didn't make are the only two I liked, and since Solid is not part of the title, they don't count), because I have fun playing them. |
