Sony Suing Jerry Lambert (Kevin Butler)

I don't think people should even be thinking about it. Honestly I didn't see this commercial but apparently he voided a contract. People get sued for those kind of things in the real world. People forget even though Sony does video games, they do electronics in general and have to keep up how their company has to work. I'm kind of neutral about it. Don't see sony any different.

I wonder what will happen to the Kevin Butler costume pre-order DLC for LBP Karting.

Can't really comment on anything without knowing what kind of contract they had. He didn't actually play Kevin Butler in that Wii commercial, right?

He's just an actor and his contract was up. He was no longer employed by Sony.

The are basically ( Sony ) saying that he is not aloud to act on tv any more.

It's the dumbest thing Sony has done yet.

Sony, why are you so desperate for cash these days?

County: San Mateo
Presiding Judge: Laurel Beeler

Nature of Suit: Intellectual Property - Trademark
Cause: 15:1125 Trademark Infringement (Lanham Act)
Jurisdiction: Federal Question
Jury Demanded By: Plaintiff

He's being sued for trademark infringement, not a breach of contract. Sony is trying to argue that the likeness of Kevin Butler is their properly, so the actor cannot show himself in any commercials because Sony owns what he looks like.

It's absurd.

He is in a Tire commercial, and is not seen playing the Wii.
This should not violate a non-compete contract.

Let the courts decide that.

A contract is apparently not in discussion.

Butler could have potentially saved the Vita.

Too bad.

Don't worry, Sony fans will still find a way to justify this move.
