No surprise here ... AC games are never great, sometimes just managing good imo. No, I am not one of those "reviews don't matter" crowd, I just never got into AC as it is all flash and no substance.

It's his opinion. He doesn't have to flash the "IMO" disclaimer every time he voices his opinion. It goes without saying.

I dunno, AC1 may have been like that, but the games that followed have had a lot of depth to them. I think they have a great style, and while the overarching story is a mess, Ezio's story was interesting. As for substance, each game adds more and more things to do, new activities, challenges, new equipent and abilities so you can approach things differently. The Eurogamer review of 3 actually says that it's possibly the biggest and most varied game this year.

Thank you, Nnamz. We shouldn't have to say imo every single post around here, as it is a forum after all.

I dunno, mcsmell, I sort of liked the first AC just for the views and tried getting into a few more afterwards. That one with Leonardo fancying him was all a bit facepalmy and that was when I thought it was just trying to cram everything into one game, rather than concentrating on a few areas and really excelling in them.

The only game announced in the last few months that I think has any real potential of getting people to look at the Vita with admiration will be Soul Sacrifice. A fresh, new IP that looks tantalising from the moment it was first shown. Let's just hope that by March 2013 it isn't too late, or even worse, the devs behind SoSa don't just cancel it. It could happen :(
