Sony is being VERY smart with the Vita this week. This could turn things around.

I think what people do not realise is that if the Vita does not sell in Japan it does not matter if it sells in the US and EU.
Pretty much all handheld games are developed in Japan, if it does not sell in Japan it will not come over to US/EU

I know that it's not developed in Japan, but it has critically low sales over there and it does not matter. Plus Microsoft is still trying to push the system over there.

No company would be stupid enough to throw away strong overseas sales just because home sales aren't that great.

The Vita had some good deals, but in a week when EVERYONE else had good deals too. The sales will increase but so will everyone else's too. It's not like Vita is going to make up the sales gap because of 3 days of sales.

Well,, I think it needs more than this to turn things around,,, but, it's about doing things step by step,,,, and they are doing it,,, a little too late but let's see.

They need to cut in half that stupid price on their memory cards. like right now,,

I think he was saying that handhelds have mostly Japanese developers. As for company won't throw away money look at namco bandai for example. Many Japanese developers don't care about foreigners. Also Microsoft announced a year back that they are no longer making Xbox 360 over there. All the ones selling are the ones made years ago and didn't sell.

Not necessarily. They just know there's a cultural difference, and it's easier to work around them than to try to change a general bias single handily. Microsoft tried everything to sell the Xbox to the Japanese, who turned around and said "We don't need it, we have Nintendo and Sony already." They are very finicky, and Microsoft spent a lot of money trying to appeal to them.

Namco tried to appeal to the American fanbase the same way, and failed just as horribly. Dead to Rights, Enslaved, Splatterhouse, Clash of the Titans, and more all failed here to the point where they had to restructure their gameplan.
