Do games on + come out weekly? Or monthly?

My God. All these posts based purely on semantics. I wish I had the free time you guys do.

We don't have "free" time. That time is just time you will lose from doing something else. So you have to subtract that time from time you would be doing something else and square it. Not free dude... That's how they get you.

Lack of a college education got you all sour my man?

No and luckily mine came with a sense of humor with the scholarship.

Monthly for the most part sometimes 5-6 weeks between updates.

Why is that gamers embrace Xbox Live, which is a service that you have to pay for to access content already on the $60 game you bought, but paying $50 a year for a service that gives away free games with all features unlocked is supposed to be a secret scam ?

I don't think people are calling it a scam.

I've only seen a couple of posters act like it's a scam. Most everyone else is just arguing the definition of "free".

In fact I've seen more topics/posts saying "people are saying PS+ sucks!" (sic) than I have people actually saying "it sucks!".

but thats basically what you are doing, you are lowering the price of the 2 $60 games so you can tell yourself that you really just paid $40 for 3. I mean please explain to me how you receiving a game that cost $60, yet not paying that $60 isnt free?

Easy. Because you had to pay $120 to get the "free" game. Because there is an actual cost to get it then by definition it isn't free. You're emotionally arguing something that has a specific, logical definition. Most people in this thread aren't bashing PS + at all, they are just correcting the semantics of the "free" claim.

Doesn't change the fact that it is a great deal for a lot of people. Personally I love it!

hey i havent gotten mad or sad, or happy for that matter. did my font scream emotion to you? yes you paid $120, for 2 separate items, but the 3rd you paid nothing. so its still a free item. free is receiving an item that has a price tag yet you pay nothing of that price tag to get it.

you arent paying for that item by buying 2 games, you are paying for the 2 games, and getting that one.

im not saying anything about ps+ its fine, I dont think anyone here is bashing it.

By the time your year is up you would have probably beat the game already so it's good.

Why did the topic progress past this post?
Oh right, people like to troll gamefaqs despite the presence of logic.

I understand, a lot of people devalue items just to say that something isnt free. like with a buy 2 get 1 free sale, they might get 3 $60 games for $120, but instead of looking at it as getting one of them free, they would rather say "oh i just paid $40 a game."

fact still remains one was free just your personal mind set is breaking it down another way.

I never said anything about devaluing anything. I said getting more for the money spent. if I spend $120 for $180 worth of games, that's great, but nothing within that deal is necessarily free. it's just a word used for marketing to make seem like you're not spending as much as you actually are.

but thats basically what you are doing, you are lowering the price of the 2 $60 games so you can tell yourself that you really just paid $40 for 3. I mean please explain to me how you receiving a game that cost $60, yet not paying that $60 isnt free?

say you were going to gamestop to get 2 games. you go and buy them and before you leave they tell you its buy 2 get one free, so you go grab a game and walk out with it. you're saying that game isnt free? what is your definition of free? the whole transaction isnt free, just the item. free just includes whatever item that you paid nothing for.

you say its a term used to make it seem like you're not spending as much as you are, but please tell me how spending $120 is the same as spending $180?

My definition of free is " to gain something without a catalyst" If i have to give something in return in order to receive, it's not free. Period.

With that being said, if I went into game stop with the intention of buying two games and was told was allowed to pick another, I wouldn't consider it free. It's just a deal. The word free is a marketing term. It's plain and simple. I can't get the game for "Free" if I don't spend my money on two already.
