If I were a mod I would keep an eye on it and lock it right at 499 just for fun.

The person who bumped it before it purged 200 posts ago will probably remake it once that happens.

If someone says "give me 50 bucks and I'll give it right back and then some", are you losing 50 dollars? Nope. You're not losing any money, which means it's free.

By that logic everything people buy is free.

If you put down 50 dollars, and you're planning on buying something that's 50 dollars and you get that for free, you've saved 50 dollars, which means the net amount you spent is 0 dollars.

If I hand someone $50 dollars and they hand me two games I want that are valued at $50 dollars right back AND give me even more free games, that's a free service. I didn't lose any money.

This makes no sense what so ever.

If I spend 50 dollars and save 50 dollars, I break even.

How are you breaking even? You're spending money, and not gaining money in return.

I'm getting something I was planning on willingly purchasing for free, this makes up for the money I spent.

I take it you have never balanced a check book in your life, or never done math. If you spend $50, the net amount is $50.
