Poll: Are the "free" PS+ games really free?

PS+ to me is like Costco, spending money to potentially save even more. The services for plus are great too.

No. If it was free forever I would say so, but it's not because you subscribe.

they're not free, they're divided by the subscription.

let's say the yearly subscription is $100, and you download 10 "free" games over that subscription period.

100 divided by 10, it's $10 to hire each game.

then the next year rolls on, and it's another $100.

but you haven't downloaded any games this year.

$13.33 to hire each game.

so basically, PSN+ is only worthwhile if you're keeping up appearances.

at the end of the day, just remember that it's "divided by subscription".

What about games that are no longer available for free to even PS+ users anymore. But I still have free access to it because it was downloaded and saved to my PSN account. That game is still available to me to access but is no longer a part for everyone to download. You can't even factor that in individually per person. If anything the value then goes up the longer you have because those free things then have a cost for others again but still free to access for me.

No, they're not free.

They're cost cannot be calculated by "#games/subscription cost" though.

You're (or I guess we're since I'm a PS+ subscriber) paying $50 a year for access to a game collection that expands frequently, and games that are part of your collection are never removed from your collection. Don't forget that a PS+ sub also gets you discounts on various content, and that alone can add up to your yearly sub if you buy stuff from the PSN frequently.

You're also paying for minor things like avatars, themes, early access to demos and betas, etc.

Are these things free? no, they're part of your decision criteria when you're deciding to purchase PS+.
Are they worth it? absolutely.

While I'm entitled to use the content, it's only after I've paid for the subscription - so it's not free, per se, it's just free to use as long as I pay.

And I love it, regardless of how people view it!

Lol paying for a "Free rental". The only people who think this is free are the ones stupid enough to buy a vita in the first place.

After like the 3rd game you want in a year, it's all free.

Cloud saves, discounts, and the other stuff is all gravy~
