I would love to have my vita as a phone send txt message and call people I would disconnect my smartphone for this

Because not everything has to be a phone.

Well a gaming deivce would be nice with phone why add apps like youtube and facebook when I dont do that with vita I use my smartphone im home and I check my facebook with phone like the email who check there email off vita daily lol I pretty sure most people get email to there phone

You CAN text message, there's a topic on his board explaining it.

Doesn't the Vita have Skype too? You can make calls via Skype, if I'm not mistaken.

The battery would be absolutely dismal if you were to use it as a phone AND a dedicated gaming handheld.

Actually makes the most sense so far xD

Hey! The Nexus 4 (one of the best android internals) is only 300 dollars unlocked.

Then again that'd still add more to the hefty 250 base line of the PS VITA (various licensing for cellphone techs).
