Why do people like the 3DS more than the Vita?

I think that price on the console and memory cards adds a lot on why one is preferred over the other.

Games don't matter?

The 3DS does not have "better" games than the 3DS. They are all actually quite comparable. Just different experiences really.

The 3DS is what's known in Economics as an Inferior Good. People get it because it's cheap. Also because parents think that a "Nintendo" is the only videogame console because it's the only thing they've heard of since they don't care to be informed consumers when they're not buying for themselves. Parents want to spend as little money for their kids' happiness as possible because they think it makes them crafty consumers.

People would buy the Vita if prices were equal or if the Vita was cheaper than the 3DS, but probably not in any numbers that would put Vita ahead of 3DS because of reasons listed above.

Then you have to take into account the rabid Nintendo fanboys/girls who only own a Wii / Wii U because they don't care whether or not the competition offers something better. They're much more plentiful than Microsoft/Sony fanboys/girls. Nintendo fanboys believe Mario is the best story ever told in videogame history.

And finally there are those who like it solely for certain games. These people don't care about hardware or performance, and why should they? They're enjoying the system simply because they're enjoying what they play on it. A combination of this and Nintendo fanfare results in elitism and ignorance, resulting in countless trolling/flaming/perpetual negative wishes for competition.

You'd think gamers would be gamers and enjoy all consoles and games, but no. It's just like how people have to pick one sports team to cheer for, automatically branding all others as bad, instead of just enjoying the game. Why be unbiased, objective, and thoughtful when you can hop on the bandwagon of instigation and pointless fighting and boycotting?

Pac Man got knocked the hell out, what a fight!

I think it was only fitting. Marquez deserved to win at least 1 of the previous fights.

The alternative appears to be ignorant trolling, or possibly failing high school economics.
