What Square Enix things do I like... Tactics Ogre, Dragon Quest, and the Crystal Chronicles games.
What Capcom things do I like? Old Resident Evil (Revelations is pretty nice), Street Fighter, Dead Rising.
What Sega games do I like? The Shining Force series, and Phantasy Star Online and its derivatives.
What Atlus franchises do I like? Sadly, though I know I've played and enjoyed some, I can think of none off the top of my head.

So I like the Enix side of things more in SE. Capcom's been trolling me since Resident Evil 4. Sega has been trolling me pretty hard with no Shining Force in however freakin' long, though I do still love Phantasy Star Zero, and the Portables. We shall see if PSO2 actually gets a release here on Vita, and Atlus, is probably good, but not overly memorable. It's a wash for me.

Edit: Oh, and the Mana games from Square, but when is the last time a good Mana game has been released? Same thing, all around wash for me. I will still enjoy those select games from the select companies if and when they are released here. That is all.

Square Enix? You mean the company that plasters a warrior woman who wishes she were a man over everything with "Final Fantasy" in its name?
Except for FF:Dimensions... Which isn't available on Android outside Japan.
And Final Fantasy XIV, which has female galka, male mithra, and whose response to gay marriage is "we'll see what the player base says"?

Capcom? They released Megaman X5 to finish it(with half the apparent production value of X4), then on fan demand drug the series through the ground, refusing to let it die in peace, warping it more and more. Then after however long, they decided to go poke the original series once in a while-not as the unresolved story it is, but as a faux-8-bit obsessed joke. And don't even talk about Legends.

Sega? Eh, Sonic Adventure 3 is long past its window. Phantasy Star Universe/Portable is alright.

Atlus? I don't really care. They produced Thousand Arms on PSX and Disgaea games. Neat.

What I do admire, however, is the topic creator's boldness. Square Enix and, to a lesser extent, Capcom were my favorite companies for a very long time, but I've since disassociated myself from them as a "fan".

Sega of Japan's actions lately have been really ticking me off.

It's a shame because they were just starting to do better...

Word.

Sure I have preferences, but I don't let it rule my gaming experience. Most companies will follow the same constant re-release model soon anyway because it makes the most money. I know people are still drooling over Golden, but how different is that move from UMVC3, XIII-2, or MM10--Because little/none of the core aspects have changed, just added extras re-packaged. Maybe someone likes it more, that's fine, but Atlus and Sega are hardly above Capcom and Square Enix in terms of recent originality.

Versions of Sonic Adventure: At least 3.
Version of Persona 3: 3, lol maybe they planned that.
Versions of Persons 4: 2, but probably more to come.

I still love SE, but then, I'm one of those people who hated FF12 and felt that FFXIII was an improvement, and importing games that don't make it to the US isn't a huge problem for me.

On the other hand, I love Atlus' games, but refuse to support them in this generation as long as they not only refuse to release games with dual audio, but answer requests for the feature in a rude and condescending manner. I bought almost all of their PS2 releases even though I had to use 'other methods' to obtain versions of the game I could play and enjoy, but in a generation where most WESTERN games ship with multiple voice and sub tracks, I can't excuse it anymore.

Sega...I think the only game I own by them is Resonance of Fate? Which is one of my favorite games, but not enough to form an opinion about the company on.

Capcom really needs to think long and hard about its life and its choices. While I won't turn my nose up at a game I really wanted from them, I definitely wouldn't rush out to buy it new, either.

I'm confused as to what any of that has to do with anything? Basically you don't like SE because Lightning's not girly (Not that we haven't had female characters like that in FF before!), and because FFXIV lets you create female troll-things and catboys? Am I reading that right?

Also, Atlus has nothing to do with Disgaea, that's NIS/NISA. Atlus just published the first game in the US years ago before the license reverted.

My loyalty changed to Atlus with the release of Catherine. They've been doing everything right this generation, listening to the fans, pushing out games at a reasonable pace, and despite their fame, they're rather humble in their endeavors.

SE, on the other hand, has been using their past successes as an excuse to pull even more questionable things. Now all characters are named after Latin words, and their famed Fabula Nova Crystallis saga eventually became the Lightning trilogy. Matter of fact, the only games they got right this gen was the Dissidia games and Birth By Sleep. And now they're blaming the current gen being too long as a reason why their games were being held back, when in fact FFXIII Versus was announced at the same time this generation started? Pathetic.

I can't even support SEGA because they don't enjoy money, with not bringing Valkyria Chronicles 3 to the US and all.

But don't get me wrong, I support the company that has the games that suit my interest, and as of late, Atlus has been doing just that.

I haven't enjoyed a final fantasy game in twelve years. Chrono Trigger remains without a sequel. Dragon Quest and the Mana series have been regulated to handheld fodder, Xenogears and Bushido Blade lay at the bottom of a pit forgotten, and the Kingdom Hearts series, once an IP full to the brim with potential, has become a it's own punchline.

In the face of all this I'm expected to believe that a port of a game I've already played, or latest in Square Enix's bloated Fabula Nova Crystallis line of games will make it all better.
