Persona in general is Shin Megami Tensei lite. Any of the main series games put it in good perspective. Between the persona summoning dog sidekick, the laughable 'antagonists', entirely-too-informed protaganists, and literally no stakes until the very end of the game, Persona 3 isn't all that dark. You want dark, try Digital Devil Saga or Nocturne on for size. | |

And the most recent one I played on the PS2 (Forget which number) had the main character go super saiyan... so... Pretty damn cheesy. And when your comparing a game that one person likes vs a game you like there both biased... so.... meh. I'll be the mediator. Persona = A steady stream of anime tropes Kingdom Hearts = Blatant FF and Disney Junkie Fanservice Dragon Quest = Cheesy generic fantasy Tada, your all losers....
