The one they will most likely announce it globally around 20 hours from now

Well, that's why I said "what 3DS currently has" and not "will ever have".

Also, I won't be 100% convinced that that announcement is for Gen 6 until I actually hear them say the words. Nintendo is very inconsistent with their Nintendo Directs, some have huge news, others are hyped up as though they have huge news and it turns out to be about coin packs for NSMB2 or something equally unimportant.

And even if it does get announced tomorrow we won't have it in the US until early 2014 at the earliest. Localizing mainline pokemon games takes ages.

Even if the Vita absolutely bombs (which it won't - handheld consoles take a little while to get going), Sony will push it until the very end. Why? Because of their image. They want their customers to hear the name "Sony" and think high-quality electronics. Even if the Vita has absolutely no support, they need to keep pushing it.

So... No, the Vita won't and shouldn't be discontinued.

Street Fighter X Tekken

All of which are pretty solid and generally have higher scope / production values than most 3DS games.

LOL. This bombed HARD on Vita. It's not worth debating with a person like you with no knowledge.

And who cares that Magnagate is not out in North America? As if i cared about AMERICAN Crappy Library on every console ever, LOL.

Whether it sold well or not doesn't really matter, it has cross-play with the PS3 version which did sell well. You're also a little late to the hatedom, since the Capcom 25th Anniversary Tournament more people are starting to actually give this game a chance and it's seen a surge in popularity. There's also a big patch coming out in a little over a month, similar to the AE 2012 patch, that will make major tweaks to many of the characters.

So wait, who has no knowledge of this game again?

If you have access to the Japanese library, that gives 3DS a boost, sure, but that means you can play the Japanese-exclusive Vita games too, like Innocence R, Hatsune Miku, and Ys Celceta.

I know, but I'm still suspicious. There's been too many of these crazy countdown trailers that lead to nothing.

Once tomorrow comes we'll know for sure and all the speculation will be over.

Yeah but it had no new Pokemon. Black and White still took 6 months.

The Japanese exclusive Vita games are crap compared to Japanese Exclusive PS3 games. So where is the Vita useful again?

When were we talking about PS3?

Also, none of the Japanese Vita games that anyone cares about besides maybe Hatsune Miku are on PS3 anyway. Celceta, PSO2, Innocence R, Hearts R, and most of those others are all not on PS3.

In what way does it matter to you, the player, whether or not the Vita version of SFxT sold well? The only way it might matter is in terms of how many people you can find to play against online, but since you can play against PS3 owners as well, that's not an issue.

Yes. In 2018.
