Amazing games, beautiful graphics, awesome gimmicks. wonderful controls, crazy cool functions, etc etc. Making no sense it was failing with tons of people lying about it? - Results (163 votes)

TinyTim123Posted 1/8/2013 9:18:06 PM | I like my Vita and I like my Dreamcast, but they aren't very much alike. Similarities: Both play video games, Dreamcast introduced me to online gaming outside of Battlenet with PSO, Vita gets PSO2 in Japan and maybe here. Differences: Quite a lot. Vita has all these useless programs I can't delete. If I had some sort of AOL broadband, I imagine I could connect to it on Vita. Ummm, no Resident Evil Code Veronica, no Soul Calibur 2, no PSO, no Capcom vs SNK, no being forced to touch outside of standard controls on Dreamcast, much much more. I need a TV to play Dreamcast, I need a stupid internet connection that is on all the time to do anything but play games on my Vita. Now I really want to play Soul Calibur 2 and PSO.
Not so much Ooga Booga. --- http://www.explosm.net/comics/657/ |

iveriadPosted 1/8/2013 10:00:21 PM | Somewhat. But I don't think Vita will miserably fail just because it didn't has 3D capabilities or dual screen. Where Dreamcast unfortunately lose just because PS2 can be used as DVD player and cheaper than most DVD players at that time. Pretty crucial at that time. --- "There is no justice in using and deceiving people!" |
CloneTheHeroPosted 1/8/2013 10:20:48 PM | Not all.
The Dreamcast had good launch titles (Vita did not)
The Dreamcast had great titles in general (Vita does not)
Plus the Dreamcast had the misfortune of having to compete with sonys much anticipated console, the PS2. --- Currently Playing: Tales of Graces f, Gran Turismo 5, NHL 13 / PSN - Fatal error83 |
FayeLadyPosted 1/8/2013 10:27:23 PM | Going from launch forward is the Dreamcast never had a lack of games. --- If I support the game company, then I won't be supporting the blank DVD business. |
