Where did the PlayStation Vita go wrong?

-Price Sony knows how to sell their products. They start off expensive and sales are slow but they know it will pick up in a few years when a price drop occurs with a larger library available. Look at the PS3.

Maybe, but the PS3 did pretty bad for the first few years and Sony had to flood it with money to keep it afloat long enough to start selling. They don't have that kind of money anymore like they did coming off the PS2.

-Sony's not going to focus on it now that the PS4 is coming out this is just assumption as nothing indicates this will happen. PS3 came out after the PSP and Sony didn't abanden the PSP

Well they kind of did in the US. And it probably would have collapsed if MH hadn't come in to save it.

-Vaporware Square enix's FFX HD game? That's all that comes to mind. it's hard to call something vaporware when it takes years to develop a game and it hasn't even been a year since the vita has been out world wide.
That's about it.

Well there's also the Bioshock game that was maybe supposed to be started after Infinite was released. But that hasn't been mentioned recently. Either way there's not a huge list of big name games for the vita like there is for the 3DS this year.

I am not an early adopter. If your system is as awesome as you say it is, it will still be in stores when the games I want are out.

OK first software started to decline around ohh i don't know lets say 2009 in the US. 3 years after the ps3. MH saved the psp in the US? You can't be serious.

No news in a few months =/= vaporware.

1. Pricing.. direct competitor's pricing cannot be ignored
2. Hidden cost: expensive proprietary cards
3. "Castrated" versions of core franchises (UCGA, GR, CODBOD, RBS)
4. Doesn't have anything like the "Nintendo legacy" (brand power, Pokemon, Mario, now MH, Animal Xing, etc.)
5. No "obvious" system sellers on the horizon. (no GoW Vita, GT, new MGS Vita, GTA Vita, nuthin')

It takes years to upscale a game that was released back in what, 2000??

Unless FFX HD is the International Version remade and enhanced for PS3 and PS Vita standards, I don't see how it would take years for this to be released. Despite all the hype for this title, I believe the USA version will just be the PS2 version with updated graphics for the PS3 or a direct port of sorts to the Vita.

Square Enix is hard at work on sucking as hard as they possibly can at everything they even think about doing.

You don't appreciate how they haven't released an uprezzed version of a 12-year-old game? Man, you don't understand. They're busy NOT releasing Final Fantasy Versus XIII, NOT localizing Final Fantasy Type-0, NOT localizing Bravely Default, gouging people in an embarassing fashion with with All The Bravest, and putting all their efforts into a third FFXIII game that nobody wants or the already-epically-failed Final Fantasy XIV.

Do you think it's easy to maintain that kind of spotless record of incessant failure for this long? These people wake up EARLY every damn day. They make EXTREMELY poor decisions from sunrise 'till sunset.

I would agree with you 100% except for... Dragon Quest VII remake looks amazing. Dragon Quest is all Square-Enix is good for anymore.
