Remember when we thought that we would have internal memory/be able to use other storage device?

The 3ds dropped in price and made the Vita look too expensive with the lack of "must have" games. Also, the memory cards are overpriced. 250 doesn't sound so good when a 32gb memory card is 99 dollars.

Remember the backlash when everyone discovered the price tag of the memory card shortly after that moment?

More like a $250 vita with "must have" games is not too bad, while a $350+ vita is not going to sell to anyone but the super tech guys and sony fanboys even with "must have" games. I don't think the 3DS was much of a factor in this; the price drop did help the 3DS but I don't think the people who were thinking about getting a vita suddenly decided to wait. Maybe it did make some people choose the 3DS over the vita because of the lower price and more games though. Unfortunately Sony apparently packed so much tech into the device that they can't afford to recruit third parties that they need to succeed.

Also, memory cards that cost 3-4X the price of equivalent microSDs.

I am not an early adopter. If your system is as awesome as you say it is, it will still be in stores when the games I want are out.

3g model was $300. 32gb card is $100, game is $40. $440 + 10% sales tax is pretty much $500.

Whats the point of this thread?

This. When your direct competitor is cheaper, has more notable exclusives, better third party support and doesn't saddle you with nasty "hidden" costs (well, except for the 3DS XL AC Adapter shenanigans), it's no wonder most gamers conclude the system isn't worth it at the current price.
