I can't get my Vita to update!

#1bigt3224Posted 1/29/2013 11:00:32 PM
Every time I try updating, I keep getting an error code almost immediately. It jumps to about 10% every time, then stops moving, then it kicks me off with an error code.

I have tried with both my PC and my PS3, as I don't have Wifi in my dorm (there is wifi, but it takes a username and a password before you can even use it, and I can't figure out how to make that work on my Vita).

Any ideas on how to fix it? I really just want to download Ninja Gaiden... It is already on my PS3 anyway.

Do a hard reset to bring up safe mode. from there rebuild your database then try updating. I had to do that the other day to get 2.05 on.

It could be your battery level isn't full. It won't update unless it has a full battery. (i know because i tried updating when i first got it and it had a half bar and wouldn't work but worked fine with a full battery.)

Will that remove anything on my memory card? Or is it not like a restore? I've barely had the thing, so i'm still confused on how to work some parts of it haha. A detailed description of what to do would be fantastic if you are cool with it!

A format will remove everything. If you're sure you want to reset(which i wouldn't recommend because it resets EVERYTHING, just hold the power button while turning it on.) Do my recommendation first and see if it works.

It doesnothing to the memory card it restores the Vitas interal settings. What you have to do is shut it off completly not sleep mode. Hold the power button for 30 seconds to 1 minute. then the safe mode screen will come up. then select restore database.

I just clicked on content manager on my Vita, and it told me to update before use, and for some reason it went on ahead and worked. Huh.
