I don't know if it officially "ended the series", but it'd be very hard to pull it off.

inFamous 2 spoilers ahead...
Disregarding the glaring fact that the main character dies in the good ending. Both of the games' endings are completely different, begging the question of "which ending would sequel be a continuation of?". Not to mention that both endings were pretty much series ending. Either every human is dead, or everyone with superpowers (including the main character) is dead.

You can't even include the possibility of a prequel, because he didn't have powers until the start of the first game.

I did really enjoy the games though, if they actually do somehow pull off an inFamous 3 or inFamous Vita, I'd definitely buy it.

demons souls is a game that is heavy on lores and myths, i think sony is trying to be cautious with this IP, they're probably waiting for that one dev that has really delves deep into the demon souls lore and wanted to expand on it further.
