My friend is telling me to play this game, so I see this ps1 port on PSN. Is the port any good?

No. It has framerate issues, long loading tomes, and is prone to crashing from lousy coding. If you really want to play it, get it on VC or hunt down the GBA version.

Yeah, FF III on Wii VC is a much better version.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be but it's essentially the SNES version with slightly longer load times. There is also a CG intro which adds nothing in the PS1 version.

Final Fantasy VII had longer load times but no one gives that game anything other than praise.

If you can you should get the GBA or SNES version though but the PS1 version is fine.

Use a stopwatch, then open and close a menu in both games,

Also, wrong about load times being equal.

It has the best english translation but it also has the worst sound quality and still has some things censored (Siren's booty).

The Japanese SNES version is still the best.

the PSN FF6 is just fine :) some people have serious issues with load times, and so far finished twice i have never encountered any glitches bugs or slow downs, people exaggerate the load times beyond what they are to slow downs glitches and bugs which there arent many and if there are, i havent noticed any after 80 hours of play, currently on a 3rd playthrough for 100%

The game is cool and fun and looks really nice on a PSV screen, it does have slightly longer then normal load times but thats pretty much about it, + it will only cost you $5 on the sale which is on right now or tomorrow.
