I have a strong feeling that PSV will have PS4 remote play

#1t0taldjPosted 2/7/2013 1:18:50 AM
Sony has been quiet about PS3-PSV remote play. There almost no support and it was suppose to be one of the main features.

On the other hand if Sony makes a Wii U like controller for PS4, that'll hurt the Vita even more.

What do you guys think?

I think all PS4 games will have remote play to compete with the Wii U. It would be a missed opportunity not to allow it.

It's a given!

Especially considering how well that went with the PS3 support...

You show you have no idea how things work. Shuhei Yoshida said in interviews and in podcast that a lot of things are hard to do with the PS3 because it wasn't developed with it in mind in the first place.

That's why cross game voice chat is done on the Vita, but can't be done on the PS3 because of RAM concern and the whole way the infrastructure is working. They said that even showing the Vita trophy on the PS3 was hard, but the PS3 trophy on Vita was simple because they made it for it from the get go.

If they built the PS4 to communicate with the Vita it can be done, not saying it will. Don't forget the Gaikai purchase.

isnt remote play going to be limited by the quality of your ISP eventually? even a 50 ms delay is going to be infuriating while playing remote play

And it should never work that way. It should just directly be connected to the system itself over Wifi/BT/router.. Or at least a new accessory to plug in the VITA ala BT adapter (but something more advanced or custom made for the VITA-PS4 remote play).

I agree with that, but some people want to remote play from work with their PS3/PS4, but even remote desktop is laggy so I doubt it could ever work perfectly.

It could work like Nvidia's upcoming handheld device "Shield". It's very impressive in terms of remote play, take a look:

God of war is surprisingly playable on it so, if it was designed to work together properly at an OS level. The it shouldn't have much problem I feel.

PS+ has paid it's self for me. So from here on out I will refer to any new games as free.

The sad thing is, it was designed at the OS level on PS3.
Hackers are able to enable RemotePlay on any PS3 game by tweaking config files in the game file.

Meaning at any point in time, Sony could have enabled it in every game by REMOVING 2 lines of code (The If/End if block that checks the config file to see if it's enabled), and had they done so, and enabled it in DVDs and Blurays, Wii U would never have existed in it's current gamepad form
