The sad thing is, it was designed at the OS level on PS3. Hackers are able to enable RemotePlay on any PS3 game by tweaking config files in the game file.
Meaning at any point in time, Sony could have enabled it in every game by REMOVING 2 lines of code (The If/End if block that checks the config file to see if it's enabled), and had they done so, and enabled it in DVDs and Blurays, Wii U would never have existed in it's current gamepad form
And the lag for most all of them is unbearable. Tried it myself and Mirror's Edge had a good second long delay.

If the Vita does not support some awesome ps4 powers, our system is dead. Presumably Sony knows that. I'm counting on major ps4/Vita interactions.
Of course, it is Sony. So, who knows what they'll choose to horribly screw up next...
