theres one thing I don't get about this board.

Why do people always bring up the 3DS getting or having games?

Its a Nintendo handheld getting and having games is pretty much a given.

are people really that surprised?

The problem is that when compared to the Vita which spec wise, should have murdered the 3ds but it doesn't. In fact, the Vita is a disappointment compared to the 3ds XL because of the game content.

Also, the Vita is a gaming console so the main reason is to play games on it. It has HUGE potential but no one is bringing their good games to the vita. Sure, you have the games that go to shooters and all but we could just play that on bigger and better systems. All the unique and good games are either japanese (Tales Of series and Time travelers, I'm looking at you) or they are very few in between (only 2 are good imo, P4G and Gravity Rush.....okay, wipeout is kind of good too).

I owned a Vita and I have to say that I was very interested in it but eventually sold it due to the lack of video games on it. $250 just isn't worth a system that only looks good but doesn't have good games. For now, the 3DS (especially XL) is better with all the variety, new and interesting concepts that are coming in for games which are turning out great (God bless Fire Emblem, The Legend Of Zelda OOC 3d, Tales Of The Abyss, Phantom Thief, DOA, Project X Zone, Mario Kart 7, Blazblue, RE etc. )!
,

The point is that until they start improving the game library, the Vita will continue to fail as a gaming system. (Wish someone hacked it because I'd kill to play PS2 games on the go!)

And Here's why I will not take anyone seriously.

3DS.
New and interesting concepts.
FE, LoZOoT, TotA, DOA, MK7, BB.
VITA fails because it lacks [new and interesting concepts]. (Gravity Rush, Tearaway, Soul Sacrifice, etc).

Then he says he's disappointed with VITA.
Then says he wished it would be hacked so he could play PS2 games.
Now it all makes sense.

^ But WII U is Region Locked and the games you buy are tied to Console and not User.

And you care more about Used games? At least you can STILL find sealed games even 20 years down the line.

Actually no, the games are tied to the account, not the system.

February 7th: (regarding the matter of Ouya's yearly hardware revisions)

"But don't fret, nervous game buyer. Uhrman assured us that "all the games will be backward compatible" going forward. When pushed on how this will work, she said, "The games will be tied to you, the gamer," (like Steam is now) rather than tying your game licenses to the hardware you purchased (like, say, Nintendo's Wii U)."

February 8th: (on the subject of how Wii U and Nintendo handles digital content ownership.)

"Ever buy an Xbox Live game? You probably know that purchase is tied to your Xbox Live account, and will be available on any subsequent Xbox you purchase. Not in Nintendo's world; Kyoto's digital sales are tied to the gaming hardware, not the user's account.
It's been a sore spot for Nintendo gamers for some time now, and the Wii U was the company's chance to make amends -- except it didn't. Like its predecessors, the new console locks content to the device it was originally purchased on, imprisoning digital purchases in a physical cage. The Wii U takes content confinement a step further with its support for legacy software, providing a near-perfect example of the folly of Nintendo's content ownership philosophy: the isolated sandbox of its backwards-compatible Wii Menu."

"A lost, stolen or damaged Wii U could blip multiple generations of purchases out of existence."

And how many systems do they sell? Apparently no enough to meet expectation and hit the forecast that has been lowered twice already.

Usually they don't bite themselves in the ass that much, but this is what the board is overrun by. I don't know if you saw the PS3 board in its early days, but it was very similar. Unfortunately it will probably be at least another year before these kinds of posts/topics fade.

ITT: If you like a game, it's a system seller.

Reality, selling a lot of systems during a games release is system seller (10-30k is not a lot)...

The 3DS has been out for twice as long as the Vita. Of course it's going to have a bigger library.

What are the 5 system sellers for 3dS?

Fire Emblem Awakening
Kid Icarus Uprising

I counted only two. What are the other three? If you say OOT, Mario Kart 7, or Pokemon X I'd say you are full of crap.
