When I see numbers in a Sailor Goon post I feel a little jolt of excitement, similar to when I spot a 4 or 5-of-a-kind match in Puzzle Quest. True story.

I read those lyrics (read, not listen to them, since I happen to be deaf) way, way, way before I talked to you - that stuff's older than "Bob Hope is a vampire" jokes. And the phrase 'crawling in my skin', is usually taken to mean being in a state of horrified distress, as a gut reaction... largely because of the mental images it invokes. Really, try picturing something actually 'crawling in your skin'. Getting goosebumps and feeling antsy yet? Good, that's the gut reaction that phrase invokes first and foremost in anyone who hears it and isn't a 4channer or (god forbid) a Linkin Park fan. It's a primal fear of humans, after all. -_- And note I'm not talking about its actual literal meaning, but the instinctive reaction it gets from your average person. Average, in this case, being something other than the perverted lunatics that make up 99% of 4chan's regular userbase and can't be called mentally normal by any stretch of the imagination, seeing how they think gifs of dogs being killed with a shovel are funny and laugh-worthy. As for a good Cena example, the standout example would be the 'Rap-off' he had with Angle, which progressively got angrier and angrier (not to mention crappier and crappier) as they rapped to each other, until they started literally butting heads like angry bulls and growling, and were this close to starting a brawl. It gets linked whenever two or more people get mad at each other on 420, especially on the wrestling board there (predictably). Honestly? Look at this thread, that's actually a much more accurate thing to use, all things considered. Cena being an angry guy who yelled a lot was also his original gimmick before he became a merchandise ***** and a super face, and was also where most of his more entertaining moments came from. Here, have it, I tracked it down on 420 just for you. It actually is a fairly accurate rendition of most of this thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgwhk57HcB8 But whatever... it's not like you and I are going to ever agree about any of this, so you'll just have to accept that you aren't changing my mind any more than I'm changing yours. --- **PS3 ID: GenocideHeart - Vita ID: VR-Jaguarandi** "You forgot to buy Warp Wire, didn't you?" --Nevius
I read those lyrics (read, not listen to them, since I happen to be deaf)... There you go taking everything literally and looking at things narrow mindedly. No. You "read" them lyrics, as in you tried to take them literally. Crawling under your skin is from the feeling while high on heroin, and as I already said has "among other meanings" Crawling under skin is a play off getting something under your skin. "Don't let it get under your skin" which means don't let it bother/annoy/irritate you. Both make sense, but what you don't understand is its used for people crying in anger, which was you, based off a completely failed understanding screaming "YOU ACT LIKE AN ASS ON THE INTERNET, YOURE GONNA PAYT" And guess what antsy means? Being irritated, which does not have to come from something crawling under your skin. And note I'm not talking about its actual literal meaning, but the instinctive... What right do you have taking about instinctive reactions when you miss the point of these reactions and then try to play it off as something totally else and stupid? Memes are not for the average person to understand and enjoy. It's a meme, dude you clearly over analyze all this up in your head, and take this way too seriously. "IT MUST CONFORM TO AVERAGE PEOPLE STANDARDS!!!!!!" As for a good Cena example, the standout example would be the 'Rap-off' he had with Angle, which progressively got angrier and angrier (not to mention crappier and crappier) as they rapped to each other, until they started literally butting heads like angry bulls and growling, and were this close to starting a brawl. Lmao @ first off trying to pick and chose what meme describes your totally uncalled for breakdown. News flash, you don't get to choose. Second off, way to miss the point, again. Go ahead, plug your Cena thing into that original post. Go ahead, show us how a video gives us a better representation of your whining and anger than simply changing your OP and going "CRAWLIN IN MY SKIN". Go ahead, I'll be waiting. But whatever... it's not like you and I are going to ever agree about any of this, so you'll just have to accept that you aren't changing my mind any more than I'm changing yours. See that's where you're wrong. I know I'm right. You on the other hand are wrong. Not only does the nonsense ITT clearly prove that, you're from Italy bro, don't even try to play that. Things are definitely lost in 'translation' and your posts are 100% apparent of that fact. Unless you can show me you can understand these memes, which are 90% based off American culture, you're still a wannabe. Of course no insult to Italy or Italians, its just a fact of the world. I mean you already dodged everything else I called you out on. Your credibility is beyond the gutter now. --- The ability to be a doctor is insignificant next to the POWER of the Force.
Yeah, because the fact my father is American and I'm half black doesn't count for anything, I suppose. No way I have been exposed to American culture... ... ... OH WAIT. Yeah, I'm from Italy. Born and raised here. I also happen to have an American dad, not a strange thing since I live in Vicenza, where there's a sizable US Army military outpost (Caserma Carlo Ederle, specifically). And take a wild goddamn guess who introduced me to all of this stuff based on American culture? Three guesses, first two don't count. Hell, he's the one who introduced me to rasslin' as well, although he actually LIKES Cena while I think he's a talentless hack and prefer CM Punk - his being straight edge helps, admittedly. He also got me into Fear Factor, although I find it immensely idiotic to go through that kind of crap for prize money... but that won't stop me from watching crazy people do it. It didn't occur to you at all that I may have been exposed to American culture, did it? Way to assume things, bro. --- **PS3 ID: GenocideHeart - Vita ID: VR-Jaguarandi** "You forgot to buy Warp Wire, didn't you?" --Nevius
GenocideHeart posted... Yeah, because the fact my father is American and I'm half black doesn't count for anything, I suppose. No way I have been exposed to American culture... Your father being American is irrelevant. My boy was born in the US and he's been living in Sweden for 13 years since he was 12. He's 'lost' it just as much as you have. Same with my ex who had to live with her dad in Germany and Japan most of her life despite being New Yorkers. And these people were born here to top it off. The point is not about knowing about things here and there, it's understanding the American culture fully by living in the US for a good amount of time. Just look at the UK and the differences in meaning the same exact phrases have between the US and there. I'm not trying to be a US elitist about it, nor am saying you personally don't have the ability to understand, but your posts were very telling ITT. --- The ability to be a doctor is insignificant next to the POWER of the Force.

Quite frankly, I'm not even sure you CAN talk about AMERICAN culture, as several actual Americans I know both IRL and on the net admit that America doesn't so much have a culture, but is a mishmash of OTHER cultures without an identity all its own. And that's coming from AMERICANS, not from me. Doesn't really paint your argument in a good light, you know? And it makes sense that it'd be that way since America was basically shaped by the people who went to live there and brought their own baggage of culture with them. Even now, American culture isn't even consistent with itself - Northern and Southern US couldn't be more different in terms of folklore and culture, and it was even worse before the Civil War, when one side used slaves and thought it was peachy and fine, while the other didn't, and most definitely both thought the other side were uncultured, barbaric scum. American 'culture' is too inconsistent even from the point of view of a born American, unless they really aren't using their brain and are blindly drinking up the government's patriotic propaganda designed to keep their citizen placated sheep that won't just kick their ass for being bad at governing. That's why a lot of the world finds it hard to take it seriously when someone talks about it. About the only things that can be clearly recognized as culture in America are an overabundance of gun lovers, love for theatrics (otherwise why would wrestling be so popular?), and general arrogance - too many Americans believe that their country is the only one that matters and the rest are irrelevant and pond scum, which is amusing seeing how those irrelevant pond scum countries got a lot of stuff stolen off them by America. Those three things are consistent no matter which state one visits. The rest... seriously, Louisiana and Florida might as well be different NATIONS with how different the people and cultural backgrounds are. And only people who DON'T live in America can notice that, because locals are so used to it they simply are incapable of realizing how inconsistent their country's culture is. But that's an argument for somewhere other than a videogame board full of console-hating trolls. --- **PS3 ID: GenocideHeart - Vita ID: VR-Jaguarandi** "You forgot to buy Warp Wire, didn't you?" --Nevius |
