4g PS Vita with Sly Price Cut rumor for 2013....

Itís fair to say that the PS Vita is in need of some more TLC by Sony throughout 2013. The system has amazing potential thanks to its impressive hardware features out of the box, but so far only a handful of developers have managed to produce games that are actually worth buying. While new games are obviously on the way this year to improve on this specific aspect, many consumers are still waiting for a main PS Vita price cut in 2013 before they even consider picking one up ahead of new handheld alternatives due on the market soon.

PS Vita 4G model with sly price cut rumors in 2013

At the moment, the PS Vita remains at $249 for the WiFi version and $299 for the 3G model, with the latter proving to be almost a pointless purchase for various reasons. With the majority of new smartphones now touting 4G LTE capabilities, it is no surprise to hear new rumors that Sony may be planning to drop a 4G version of the PS Vita to replace the 3G model.

A 4G PS Vita with its faster data processing abilities may tempt users into a purchase over 3G, although thereís still the main argument that mobile data is really not needed with thousands of Mobile Hotspots already available worldwide which provides users with sufficient access to a WiFi connection.

The twist to all of this, is that an arrival of a 4G model may double up as a PS Vita price cut as well. Whispers have emerged claiming that the 4G model will move to the existing 3G model price point of $299, while the WiFi version will remain the same at $249. It goes without saying that this isnít the price cut that everyone would have wanted to see, as the $249 WiFi price is the figure that consumers are really waiting to see drop.

If Sony are really planning to pull such a stunt, then they really need to make that 4G version appealing as it definitely hasnít worked so far with the 3G model. Let us know your thoughts on a potential 4G version of the PS Vita and whether you would be interested in buying one or not.

Even a 4G Vita seems like a waste to someone who carries a 4G phone around. Not only do they get to pay one data plan instead of two, but the Vita sees the phone as a Wifi connection, So Sony doesn't lock out your access to things like they do on a 3G Vita.

Sony should just ditch the 3g/4g and cut the price of wifi vita to 200 usd. Then they should give release date for Ruin and announce two brand new games at 20th. Two games are enough FOR NOW as long as they are really strong titles.

If the 4G Vita allowed for 4G gaming, I think the system would sell great.

The 3DS and PSVita are both outstanding systems. Wally the Equality Weasel says so.

4g is not what the vita needs right now. They need to make a revision -- The Japanese don't like the cheap d-pad and buttons. Replace them with the dual shock 3 design, while announcing a price cut and new games/apps as well.

They will fail again if this 4g rumor is true.

Wat. The Vita d-pad is far superior to the crappy dual shock 3 one.

The buttons I could change.

If Sony is moving into remote and Cloud gaming (and I'm sure they are since they purchased Gaikai), Vita 4g needs to happen, 3g simply won't cut it.

The only thing that would make the 4G worthwhile is if it was possible to play any Vita games online using 4G. But again, there are so many Wi-Fi Hotspots out there that buying the 4G model then paying for a seperate AT&T 4G plan (on top of your smartphone's data plan) is just too steep, especially if they plan to keep the 4G model at $300.

just make a new revision, update a few things, make the wifi 199 and the 4g 249.

it would help a bit.
