When I play fps games on my vita I have a hard time aiming compared to consoles. I played CoD a lot and kinda got used to it but it still bothers me that the thumbsticks seem so inaccurate. Anyone else having trouble? Is this because the sticks are shorter than console? Or maybe the vita has more/less dead area than console so that throws me off?

I sometimes have some issues in Uncharted, but I think that's why they added the gyro aiming to fine tune it. Works pretty well IMO. I don't know if any other games have that option.

I've noticed that too when I played some demos. I think it's just because the Vita's nubs are so much smaller than regular PS360 thumbsticks that alot of mobility gets sacrificed.

Yeah, That feature either great in uncharted, unfortunately not many games have this.

I doubt a handheld will ever be as comfortable for me as something like an xbox controller...theres just not enough landscape. The only things I dont like about the vita ones though are they are too small and the left one should be moved up higher some how...not sure how to make it like I would want it though without a re-design.

The range of motion on the Vita sticks is considerably smaller than traditional controllers.

Hold your Vita upside down (as in game cartridge slot facing down) and notice how comfortable that feels

I just went to grab mine out of my work bag but dont have it. I like the sound of it though because they should be higher up. Sony always makes their products like this and even the DS3/Sixasis setup is not that good in my opinion compared to xbox's controller. I know people will disagree, but its not natural for my thumbs at all when im on my vita/ps3 but they are right at home on xbox.

Its a mix of that, the nubs are mega small and they dont have a big range. Dont get me wrong though, I love my vita...I just get annoyed with the thumbstick setup sometimes.

That's why I prefer gyro aiming with the VITA than actually using the dinky right stick.

It's useless for precision if you play in a moving vehicle tho.
