BruceLee1974 posted... There are WAY TOO MANY NEGATIVE PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD. Go outside get some sunshine, go out with friends enjoy yourselves then come back to this board. BruceLee1974 posted...
You said exactly that, then went on to say you thought it would sell better if they both upended their business model of selling the hardware and memory for so much and also released games that more people would care about. Those are pretty big corrections for a product line there is nothing wrong with. I'd go as far to say its a bigger problem than the hardware reliability of the PS2 and 360, at least people enjoyed those systems enough to replace system after system --- If I support the game company, then I won't be supporting the blank DVD business.

They are not the same Sony that dominated in the PS1 and PS2 era, they are now the new Sega. Now the question remains if they will go out like Sega, or if they will turn it around and stay relevant. One of the most hypocritical posts ive ever seen. Anyone who has seen you on the 3DS board can attest to that. --- 3DS Friend Code: 0516-8714-1928 Vita: Melchiahdim

What with the expansions at Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Guerrilla, Media Molecule and elsewhere it's becoming clear that Sony is moving past supporting multiple medium studios all over the place and is instead placing their investment in larger studio houses that are host to several studios handling multiple projects at a time. Between just Naughty Dog and Guerrilla, at least five games are currently in development with a dedicated tech team added in to boot. Santa Monica handles around just as many titles alone because like with Japan Studio it also functions as a co-developer that collaborates with multiple independent studios at a time. This setup certainly makes sense in terms of general cost of upkeep (it's less permanent locations per region), not to mention it benefits development with the added flexibility of staff. You will be able to more easily shift members to and fro in projects when required, which means less overall staff is needed, which you can't do if the studios exist in different locations. It also means more sharing of know how, tech and talent. Other houses function like this as well, notably Nintendo as well as Sony's own Japan Studio.

I think that certain people on this forum doesn't know that Sony isn't gaming company. They do all kinds of electronics like tv's, heaphones, cd's and what not and ps3 and vita are only one product of that gigantic company. Hell, Sony has been first in tech advance at 80's with other companies. |
