Why is it impossible for PS1 Classics to fill the entire screen correctly?

No matter how many times I've tried, it's impossible to alter screen proportions to fill the entire Vita screen(even using Custom).

Zoom kinda works, it depends on what kind of game it is(never use it on rpg's).

Wide Screen is nice but I'm scared to use due to potential burn in.

Really wish we had more options for screen sizes. :-(

Playing FF6, I noticed that. If the screen wasn't big, I would be really annoyed.

The 3DS and PSVita are both outstanding systems. Wally the Equality Weasel says so.

What screen size setting do you have it set on?

I just put it to zoom, or full or whatever. I've never noticed the problem myself actually.

I was saying I noticed the screen didn't fill. Full works best.

It is? I've made PS1 games fit with the custom setting. I'm playing Legend of Mana right now and as far as I can tell it fits the whole screen.
So does Xenogears.
Don't remember if FFVI fits but I can't see why it wouldn't.

Edit.
But yes, the image is stretched, but it does fit the whole screen.

sadly, TC.... PS1/some PS2 games are standard 4:3 format... so its either fit in with black bars or stretched to fit in today's widescreen display.
