Graphically, how much do you think the Vita can advance within its lifetime?

The most graphically impressive game is still a launch game. Killzone looks leaps and bounds better than any other Vita game, and it's less than 2 years in. Look at any other system. Vita will improve a lot over the years.

ARM is a known architecture it's been around for awhile, the Vita's insides are customized but development is already easy for the platform. The Vita is likely at its limits already due to Sony choosing slow A9's instead of waiting for A15's and then there's the issue of the GPU(s) having trouble supplying native res games to the qHD res.

Nice reminder.. might happen like the advent of PSP 2000... from 222 to 333 Mhz right?

Won't happen unless Sony wants to melt your crotch off.

I think it will be really difficult to tell the difference compared its launch and end of its lifespan time graphics.

Vita won't improve nearly the way a home console will. It's architecture is already known, and handhelds don't seem to improve the way home consoles do. That said, there may be some improvement.

LOL I don't expect it to run 50% faster in clock speed.. maybe a lower speed bump.
Devs said before it can run at 2Ghz but battery lasts below 5 mins. :P

Oh I got the reference LOL:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-02-ngp-chips-wont-rival-ps3-performance

"Some people in the press have said wow, this thing... could be as powerful as PS3. Well, it's not going to run at 2GHz because the battery would last five minutes," he said. "And it would probably set fire to your pants."

I honestly won't mind cutting my PSV gen 1's battery in half if it meant much better visuals and getting as warm as an iPad [tolerable IMO] (PSV never got warm in my hands.. although 2 hours is the only longest time I've played).

To illustrate how this is wrong, lets look at the progression of MGS graphics on PSP:

Not saying Vita will see a similar leap. Because of it's easier programming and less (viable) unlockable potential, I don't think it will be that dramatic. But OF COURSE graphics will improve. Killzone already blows everything else out of the water.

burrshot on one of the last pics (1XXX x 5XX res?) .. but I know what you mean.

MGSPW has some weird grid like pattern anomalies (to save on pixel rendering perhaps) on the actual game.. Much noticeable on the VITA screen than on the PSP.
