I was thinking the other day I liked the saturn I thought it had a few good exclusives and games, I owned a saturn before I ever owned a playstation, but we all know what happened to the ill fated saturn, do you guys feel like this is another repeat of a system on life support? or do you guys think the vita will kick ass as games like soul sacrifice etc start to roll out?

Things are going too slow for the Vita, imo. Some good games are coming out, but the Vita might not be a "must own handheld" for another year. Assuming it gets more support, of course.

They are implementing the same strategy they did with the PS3. Vita is about longevity they want the system to have a long life span. I think when PS4 comes out we'll see a lot of cool things and new features for the VITA and of course more games.

Honestly I don't think Vita will start its regular great games announcement before PS4 is out... No, I'm not talking about the cross-play nonsense or extra controller wtfisthatfor stuffs... I'm talking about that when the PS3 and X360 finally is rested, the developers of mid-mid high budget games will finally turn their attention on vita when their games would fall short to be released in PS4 (Making a PS4 games isn't gonna be cheap for them after all)... Like how PS2 had to die first before PSP got its rain of good games over the years.

The Dreamcast was a much beloved system that was praised for its amazing library though

Vita is selling really well in Japan now and has quite a few games. So it's not at all like the Sega Saturn.

It's just... sales in the US are horrible, so developers don't want to take a chance and translate + export games to such a small market.

Gaming was young back then, and lots of companies tried and failed. Although the Vita has a rough start, we mustn't forget it's part of the PlayStation family, which has generally been successful throughout the years.

Funny thing is, I actually own a Saturn and, up until the Soul Sacrifice demo, have played it more frequently than my Vita.

I think Vita is more like Game Gear. Except Game Gear actually sold better and had more games...
