Games on vita continues to sell well, Muramasa Rebirth breaks 100k units sold

Marvelous AQL seems to be having a successful run with the PlayStation Vita. Soul Sacrifice, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, and the vivid port of Muramasa: The Demon Blade have all sold fairly well in Japan.

Muramasa Rebirth broke past 100,000 units sold. This figure includes shipments* of the packaged game and PSN purchases for the digital release. Not bad considering the game is only a month old. Looking back, the Wii version was "in the ball park of 35K" according to the NPD with a little less than month’s worth of sales in North America.

Muramasa Rebirth comes out on June 25 with a new localization from Aksys.

quite a weird thing, hardware wise, it sold much lesser than it's competition, yet software wise it's selling really well, some even better.

This. The vita is a system for gamers. The Wii is a system for grandmas. Releasing good games like Muramasa, Xenoblade and Last Story on the Wii is like giving meat to a vegan. Too bad the other two games were published by Nintendo itself, so they're "doomed" from the beginning.

Pretty much. Vita's major problem is the fact that it hasn't penetrated the mass market. But it's niche market is extremely hardcore.

If you call selling 100k selling well then that is a pretty low standard.

It's a niche game they print low amounts of it and they expect to only sell about 100k-200k units.

Very nice sales thanks TC, dat attach rate!

I agree, I have a ton of games for Vita, and indeed I buy more for it than PS3 and xbox combined, console sales are low but indeed Sony hit the niche of harcore gamer with busy life and mid/high income.
